Description
These flowers are on the east side of the Calhoun settling pond, officially called the Southwest Lake Calhoun Wetlands Ponds. It was created in 1999 to filter runoff water of phosphorus, protecting nearby Lake Calhoun (which is across the parkway to the northeast). Although relatively new, there are plenty of fish, ducks, cattails, flower, and prairie grasses here. I photographed beaver here, too. (date: 2002-06-09)
