Description
This is myself (left) and my brother, Marc, in his hospital room at UCLA Medical Center. I was leaving to fly back to Minneapolis when this picture was taken.
I had just spent three weeks at UCLA with Marc while he received radiation, high dose chemotherapy, and a stem cell transplant. This was for lymphoma. Marc was recovering by the time this picture was taken -- his white count was .75, up from .12, and his absolute neutrophil count was .3, up from zero. He was suffering from neurological side effects from the chemotherapy, though.
Our Mother, Linda, arrived the following day, so he wasn't alone at the hospital for very long. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, CPs, and other staff at UCLA who gave my brother such good care. (date: 2002-02-01)
